Customised Cables

Why choose a customised cable?

A standard cable is designed for the average use case. A customised cable is designed for yours.

  • Better performance: Conductor size, insulation and shielding are matched to your load, helping reduce losses and heating.
  • Longer service life: Designed around your voltage, current, temperature and handling requirements.
  • Design freedom: Build your product as planned instead of working around the limits of a standard cable.
  • Lower total cost: The right cable can help reduce failures, downtime and replacements.
  • One supplier, one cable: Power and control functions can often be combined in one multicore cable, simplifying wiring and inventory.

What we customise

Every Rolson customised cable starts with your application. Our team reviews the design parameters with you before production begins.

Design parameters

  • Voltage rating: Designed for your system voltage, up to 1.1 kV (confirm available range).
  • Current capacity: Conductor cross-section selected for the continuous current required by your load and safe operating temperatures.
  • Operating temperature: Insulation and sheath compounds selected for ambient and conductor temperatures, including heat-resistant grades where available.
  • Flexibility: Fine-stranded flexible conductors for moving or vibrating equipment; solid or standard-stranded conductors where appropriate.
  • Environment: Indoor, outdoor, underground or submerged applications, with water, oil, UV, abrasion or chemical protection as required and available.
  • Standards: Manufactured to applicable Indian Standards or customer specifications. Confirm applicable standards, such as IS 694 / IS 9968, and relevant BIS licence details for the selected cable.

How it works

  1. Share your requirement: Send your application, voltage, current, core count, size, length, and any drawings or samples.
  2. Design and review: We review conductor, insulation, sheath and construction options and confirm the proposed specification.
  3. Sample and approval: A sample length may be arranged for equipment testing, subject to confirmation.
  4. Production: In-house copper stranding, insulation and sheathing processes, with quality checks at each stage.
  5. Testing and dispatch: Batch testing and packing are carried out according to the agreed specification and available test facilities.

Why Rolson?

  • In-house manufacturing: Copper stranding, core laying and sheathing under one roof, helping control quality and lead times.
  • Engineering support: Help selecting a suitable cable construction for your application.
  • Flexible order quantities: Minimum order quantity confirmed against the selected cable construction.
  • Consistent quality: Copper conductors and compounds checked against the approved specifications.
  • Responsive service: Clear communication from enquiry through delivery.

Frequently asked questions

What details do you need for a quote?
Share your application, voltage, current or conductor size, number of cores, insulation and sheath preference, operating environment, and required quantity or length.

What is the minimum order quantity?
It depends on the cable construction and will be confirmed with your quotation.

How long does a custom order take?
The lead time depends on the specification, material availability and order quantity; it will be confirmed after reviewing your requirement.

Can you print our brand name on the cable?
Custom sheath printing with your brand name, part number or specification can be discussed when confirming the order.

Can you match an existing cable?
